Subject Lines
Here is some advice that you might share with participants from time to time.
- If your adding to an existing topic and want your message to be a part of the topic archive, then leave the subject line exactly as is? Don't make minor changes to the subject line, unless you need to.
- If the content of your POST is something other than what is in the subject line, CHANGE the subject line to something more appropriate. Do it yourself, don't wait for someone else.
- If you find a subject line offensive, distasteful, or otherwise objectionable - DO feel free to change it, even if your posting on the same topic. You should never feel obligated to post under a subject line that makes you uncomfortable.
- Posting from the web site is the best way to manage subject lines, but its not necessary.
