The purpose of this forum to share announcements and discuss neighborhood issues, life, and events specific to the Powderhorn Park neighborhood of Minneapolis, Minnesota. This forum promotes civility through the required use of real names.

Goals

Goals of the Powderhorn Neighbors Forum include:

• Build Community and healthy relationships among neighbors of all backgrounds

• Give Powderhorn Park residents a greater voice in decisions that affect our community

• Encourage local self-reliance: make each other aware of local businesses, restaurants, service providers, opportunities to barter for goods and services, or share/exchange skills, time, or tools etc.

• Maintain a membership that is representative of the ethnic, religious, and socioeconomic diversity within our neighborhood.

• To exchange views with local elected officials and with government staff who serve the Powderhorn Park neighborhood

• To encourage friendships, partnerships, collaborative problem-solving and positive, citizen-driven change for our neighborhood

Topics that you might find here to discuss include:

• Highlights and minutes from 3PAC, PPNA, Parkside West, and other neighborhood/resident association meetings

• Details/outcomes of specific crime incidents

• Powderhorn Park

• Powderhorn Park Neighborhood Association (PPNA)

• Requests/recommendations for local services—handy(wo)man, car repair, etc.

• The announcement of neighborhood events, activities, and local petitions

• Requests for volunteers for events or organizations within the neighborhood

• To rally community support to assist neighbors in need or those struck by tragedy

• City policy issues as they specifically relate to the neighborhood

• Non-recurring announcements (posted by a neighborhood resident) of a garage sale, job opening, roommate wanted, rental available, house/car for sale, etc. within the Powderhorn Park neighborhood boundaries.
