The Sunlight Foundation provides APIs for accessing information on the federal and state governments. Plus, there are convenient python libraries for these APIs.

Some of E-Democracy's largest groups are the political issues forums, such as Minneapolis Issues and St. Paul Issues, which are great testing grounds for how to bring Sunlight's information to the public discussion.
