This is the detailed timeline for e-debate planning. Candidates will be able to prepare all of their responses in advance expect for the mandatory rebuttals which are due by 8 p.m. (or at least 5 hours after initial question responses are distibuted). Candidate may choose which candidates to address in their rebuttals and may even submit "I have no further comments."
August
- XX - Candidates sent informational letter on upcoming E-Debate, asked to confirm interest in participating pending agreement with E-Debate rules and format
- XX - Primary campaign contacts for E-Debates identified - complete contact details including mobile phone number and wireless e-mail information collected
- XX - Letter to potential media/online partners drafted and sent
September
- XX - Call for volunteers
- 12 - Election Primary
- 13 - Confirmation e-mail sent to all remaining candidates on the ballot
- XX - Public asked to submit questions over next week
October
- XX - Four up to 400 word responses w/ mandatory rebuttals (no word/time limit) questions crafted from submitted questions - This debate will include 2 questions that are specifically broadband/Internet policy related
- XX - Eight Short answer questions selected "SAQ" - 100 word limit
- XX - Candidate audio interviews via telephone/Skype for "getting to know podcasts"
- XX - Public relations blitz
- XX - IDEA - Pre-Debate Minnesota Podcaster Interviews - with citizens on what they want to hear from the candidates in the election/in the e-debate - Based on volunteer interest
- XX - IDEA - Campaign YouTube training for optional video recording of candidate open statements, responses, and rebuttals. This will be optional and can be done post-text deadline.
- XX- Pre-debate audio interview podcasts released
THE E-DEBATE
Four long form questions in text (with YouTube video option) and option for telephone rebuttals called in by candidates to voicemail system, 9 short answer questions
Half the total questions will be broadband/internet/telecommunications related.

- 09 (Mon) - Opening Statements (Video Option via YouTube), Q1 Response Morning - SAQ 1 Afternoon
- 10 (Tue) - Q1 Rebuttal Morning - SAQ 2 Afternoon - Rebuttal via text or telephone recorded audio option
- 11 (Wed) - Q2 Response Morning - SAQ 3 Afternoon
- 12 (Thu) - Q2 Rebuttal Morning - SAQ 4 Afternoon
- 13 (Fri) - SAQ 5 and 6 Morning, Voter Voices Launch:
- Online citizen conversations open across partner forums, new E-Democracy MN-POLITICS forum
- IDEA: Blogger debate analysts panel response (possible with volunteer interest)
- Voter Voices - video responses via YouTube
- Voter Voices - audio responses via Odeo voicemail, regular voicemail?
